Confined Space Training
We specialise in providing accredited confined space training across the UK. Our courses are structured to give delegates an understanding of the hazards of confined spaces and how to minimise risk. On successful completion of the course, candidates receive a certified City & Guilds Confined Space qualification.

Low Risk [6160-01]
This course is suited for anyone working in a low risk environment, such as meter pits valve chambers and stairwells. Course includes preparing to enter and work safely, entering and exiting confined spaces safely, correct use of gas detector, using equipment and tools, following procedures and dealing with emergencies.

Medium Risk - Entrant Only [6160-02]
This course is suited for workers in medium risk environments which require someone outside to control entry, and where escape breathing apparatus is required. Taught in a simulated confined space covering safe entry, emergency procedures and escape whilst wearing breathing apparatus. This course qualifies the holder as an ‘entrant’ only.

High Risk [6160-03]
This course is suited for workers who take up contracts in high risk environments. During this course, delegates will learn how to prepare to work safely, enter and exit high risk confined spaces safely, use equipment and tools safely, follow procedures and deal with emergencies. This course requires the use of full working breathing apparatus.

Control Entry & Arrangements [6160-04]
This course is for those who have the responsibility of controlling the entry of teams into either medium or high risk confined spaces. Includes the duties of an entry controller, pre-entry procedures, entry into and exit from the confined space, maintaining communications and initiating and controlling emergency procedures
Course Length: 3 day course
Supervising Confined Space Teams [6160-05]
This course is for supervisors of confined spaces and includes planning and allocating activities for a team, pre-entry procedures, entry into and exit from the confined space, selection of personnel, maintaining communications and initiating and controlling emergency procedures.
Course length: 2 day course*
Direct Emergency Rescue & Recovery [6160-07]
A one day course for anyone who directs the activities of a team for rescue or recovery in confined spaces. This may include rescue team leader, coordinator, entry controller/ top person or supervisor in relation to rescue and recovery of casualties.
Course length: 1 day course*
Working as a Rescue Team Member [6160-08]
Course designed for anyone who needs to work as a member of a rescue and recovery team in confined spaces.
Course length: 2 day course*
Medium Risk Entrant & Entry Controller[6160-09]
This course qualifies the holder to act as either an entrant or an entry controller into medium risk confined spaces. The course covers all aspects of entry requirements and self-rescue procedures for medium risk environment, giving more flexibility than the 6160-2 award.
